i dedicate this track to my mom, the idea behind it is "what i was raised on". my mom is the person who has the most wide ranged, and precise taste i know, in music, in foods, in ideas, in style, in everything! one night (or early morning), while i was staying over for x-mas vacation, after raiding her fridge of mad different curries, sweets, cheeses, stews, cakes, pickles etc ... and also after going threw most of her eclectic cd collection looking for samples, anything from African music to classic jazz to french crooners to Tibetan prayer chants, i fell on this easy listening kinda sunday morning track by john pizzarelli, and right then and there, i knew, i knew what the whole track was gonna be, (almost exactly as it is now) its like if all those catalogs of sounds and variants my mom installed my brain all open up to a particular pages and all the pieces of the beat where there waiting for me. In conclusion amongst this symphony of different sounds in my head, different foods in belly, and tastes in my mouth i stood in awe of this little lady who raised me. love u ma!
