i dedicate this track to my dad, once i was settled on style, i made it with him in mind, you see, that s-t-y-l-e at the intro, that's one of our little inside joke from way back. he took me to see blank check one day when i was a kid, after visiting my grandma, and we have been quoting it ever since.
this beat to me is as very fun as it very serious, which suits him very well. For a while it was just him and I while when i was a teen, he taught me so many things in life from the value of knowledge , the importance of being a kind, when to be strong and not to, to have class without being fake, to be passionate and believe in what you do and to have solid values, the man shaped my whole style !! also the reason i choose method man saying style to scratch is because if ask my dad what's my favorite music is?.. he'll say wu-tang.....and i LOVE that.
the title is also a wink to j dilla "stepson of the clapper", who to anyone involved in the world of beat making the man is pretty much a father figure to.
so with all that combined, who else could it go to!
